The Readiness Radar: Understanding Your 5-Axis Performance Profile

Discipline, Risk Management, Execution, Psychology, Sleep — five axes that tell you everything about your current trading state.

Every trader has good days and bad days. The difference between professionals and amateurs is that professionals know which kind of day they are going to have before the first trade.

The Readiness Radar is EdgeVara's five-axis performance profile that gives you a real-time picture of your trading readiness. Each axis is scored from 0–100 based on your recent data, and the radar chart shows you at a glance where your strengths and vulnerabilities are.

Axis 1: Discipline measures how consistently you follow your stated plan. It compares your declared strategy rules against your actual execution. A high discipline score means your trades match your plan. A low score means you are deviating — even if the deviations are working in the short term.

Axis 2: Risk Management tracks your position sizing, stop loss placement, and R:R discipline. Are you risking the same amount on every trade? Are your stops placed according to your plan, or are they drifting wider? This axis catches the subtle risk creep that destroys accounts slowly.

Axis 3: Execution measures the quality of your entries and exits. Are you chasing breakouts or waiting for confirmations? Are you exiting at your target or leaving runners untended? Execution quality is the mechanical layer of trading — the one that benefits most from automation and checklists.

Axis 4: Psychology is the most dynamic axis. It draws from your pre-trade and post-trade cognitive state logs. If you logged frustration after your last loss or euphoria after a big winner, the radar reflects it. Psychology scores fluctuate fastest and have the strongest correlation with near-term performance.

Axis 5: Sleep is the foundational axis. Sleep data from your wearable or manual log feeds into this score. Low sleep scores amplify every weakness in the other four axes. A trader with a 90 discipline score and a 30 sleep score is at higher risk than a trader with a 70 discipline score and a 90 sleep score.

The Readiness Radar is not a static report. It updates after every trade and every sleep log. You can check it before your first entry to decide whether today is a trading day or a study day. The most disciplined EdgeVara users have a hard rule: if the radar shows two or more axes below 50, they do not trade. They review, they rest, and they wait.

Over time, the radar reveals your personal patterns. Maybe your psychology score drops after three consecutive losses and stays low for 48 hours. Maybe your risk management deteriorates when your sleep drops below six hours. These are not generic trading tips — they are your specific patterns, surfaced by your data.

The Readiness Radar does not tell you what to do. It tells you what is true about your current state. What you do with that information is the art of trading.
